I contacted sonic, and spoke with Mateo. I explained the pickup and destination location. He sent me a quote, which I agreed to and signed a contract. On the morning of pickup, I was contacted, and told the trip was challenging, the vehicle could not be picked up on contract date. I was sent a communication stating it would be a couple extra days. On the morning of the second agreed upon pickup date, I requested truck arrival time, and was told they could not ship the vehicle for the contract price or time. The NEW time and price was further out, and the cost was almost doubled. I informed them that they did not fulfill the contract as signed, and consider it null and void. Stay away from this bait and switch company!!!!

The representative/broker emailed me he could have my car shipped for $900, including taxes, fees, insurance, and he promised a 200# extra weight allowance. Then he changed it to $1050 when it was within a couple of days of needing to be picked up. When I signed the contract, I found out the carrier's contract was 100# extra weight with $1/pound charge for every extra pound over 100. The broker assured me I wouldn't be charged the extra $277 the carrier wanted for the extra weight but he lied about that. He kept changing the pick up and drop off dates. Basically the brokers get $200+ from the customer and $50+ from the trucking company to do nothing but list your carriage request on a common "board" for trucking companies to choose from. NRG was a huge waste of money and not honest.

Charlie was super easy to work with. I had a truck shipped from Houston to Raleigh. I called on Wednesday. Charlie had me a carrier by Thursday and the truck was in my driveway by 2pm ET on Friday. If you understand the auto transport business, you can¡¯t always gaurentee a delivery date/rate based on carrier availability and routes but Charlie was honest and got my truck here earlier than promised at the originally quoted price.
